It was the first night I had decided to take communion <\/a>every evening. Before bed I had been thinking about this Instagram reel<\/a> \u2014 the one showing a trans man with children \u2014 and wondering what, if anything, I should say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I fell asleep and found myself in a helicopter. There was no conversation, only the sound of the rotors. The person flying us was a woman with a beard. She sat at the controls without speaking or turning around. We were heading to what seemed to be a theme park that mixed safari and skiing. When we arrived, everything was artificial. The animals were all robots or AI. They moved, but there was no real life in them \u2014 just programmed motions in a setting built to look like an adventure. The whole place felt constructed and empty, even with people present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I woke up with the images still clear in my mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lying there, the dream connected in my thoughts to the reel I had been pondering. The pilot with the beard. The safari that wasn\u2019t real. The animals that only pretended to be alive. It felt like a picture of something being presented as exciting and full of life, while underneath it was artificial \u2014 a replacement for what God actually created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On that same night, after taking communion<\/a>, these verses came strongly to mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Matthew 18:6 (ESV) \u201cbut whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 1:26-27 (ESV) \u201cFor this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The warning about causing little ones to stumble, and the description of exchanging what is natural for what is not, sat heavily after the dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I don\u2019t claim to understand every dream, but on the night I began nightly communion<\/a>, the images stayed with me as a clear warning about replacing the real with the constructed \u2014 especially when it touches children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Clearly from what was written, the Holy Spirit was “triggered”.
